Reseda aucheri

Erect, branching leafy annual or perennial, up to 60cm. Leaves: Alternate, slightly fleshy, oval, with wavy margins. Flowers: Small white/cream in dense conical spikes. Fruit: Ovoid capsule with three teeth at the top. Seeds minute and shiny. Flowering period: January to May. Habitat: Sandy or dry rocky areas in Northern Oman. Altitude: up to 1300m. Uses: Grazed by goats. Note: Attracts the desert white butterfly (Pontia glauconome).
