Grewia erythraea

A prostrate dense, woody shrub with grey bark, up to 2m in height. Leaves: Alternate, oval, with serrated margins. Flowers: Five free white petals bent back revealing many stamens, fragrant. Fruit: Green, turning orange as they mature. Flowering period: Most of the year. Habitat: This plant found in the Northern Mountains and on the dry plateau in Dhofar. Altitude: up to 1850m. Uses: Fruits are edible. The whole plant grazed by goats.
