Euphorbia orbiculifolia

Succulent, perennial shrub, stems covered in leaf scares, up to 20cm. Leaves: Opposite, clustered at the end of branches, round with entire margins. Flowers: Creamy/white with a pink base, five lobes and protruding stamens. Fruit: A lobed capsule that hangs down. Flowering period: September to October Habitat: On the Dhofar escarpment. Altitude: 200-1400m. Note: Endemic to Dhofar and southeast Yemen. Due to its restricted distribution this species is vulnerable.
