Juniperus seravschanica

A beautiful evergreen tree, up to 12m in height. Leaves: Young leaves needle-like, adult leaves scaly. Flowers: Absent, male and female cones. Fruit: Blue/black, berry-like with a whitish waxy bloom.Habitat: Dominant tree on Al Jabal Al Akhdar. Altitude: Above 2200 m, occasionally found at lower altitude in shady locations. Uses: Dried leaves used as a shampoo by women. Note: Vulnerable in Oman. Many trees show signs of die-back, which raises concern for the species conservation.
