A small, greyish perennial with spreading stems; up to 25 cm in height. Leaves: Alternate, pale grey, concentrated at the base of the plant, edges curled inwards. Flowers: Tight clusters of pale yellow flowers in round heads, surrounded by white bracts; never open fully. Fruit: Brown achenes with glands and tufts of hair on the top. Flowering period: February to April. Habitat: This plant grows on rocky hillsides and is found in Al Hajar mountain range. Altitude: up to 1000m. Uses: A bird locally known as ‘’Babu’’uses this plant to build its nest.
